Designed in 1867 by the landscape architect Georges Aumont, the Jardin du Parc in Vitré, former part of the residence of the Princess of Tarente, is a fine example of the large public gardens with which towns were adorned during the Second Empire.
It is characterized by a great botanical richness: more than 50 different species, remarkable trees such as the California cedar, 22 meters high and covering an area of nearly 1800m²!
The many garden factories that make it up, including the bandstand from 1897 and the aviary from 1907, will allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of elegant Sundays before 1914.
