What is Economic Tourism and Know-how Week?
The objective is to allow the general public, local residents and tourists, to (re)discover the local businesses that makeidentity of the territory, of all sizes and all sectors combined. During an event at thescale of Brittany, by promoting their know-how, their products and their innovations. For two weeks, companies will exceptionally open their doors to show you their know-how. A very dynamic economy: Vitreous and its agglomeration have always had economic fiber.
From the 15rd century, the city opened up to the world with the trade in hemp fabrics called canvas. The traders, “the Overseas Merchants », allow the city of Vitré to experience strong prosperity that has never been denied.
Even today, the Pays de Vitré enjoys a strong economic attractiveness because it relies on the balanced development of the territory and on the enhancement of know-how manual and industrial and training. From the primary to the tertiary sector, the territory benefits, we can say it and we are proud of it, from one of the lowest unemployment rates in France!
This year, 24 companies various sectors of activity open their doors to you: agri-food, crafts, culture and leisure, environment, transport and logistics, business services and... You can therefore choose from visiting agri-food factories, public services, a cuddly toy manufacturing factory… but also large tertiary companies, a micro-brewery, construction companies… Something to satisfy the most curious among you!

Who has never wanted to go behind the scenes of the biggest food industries?
How are our yogurts made? How is it possible that frozen foods last so long? Where do the cereals or pain au chocolat that we eat in the morning come from? Answer all your questions by visiting the industries that feed us.

The manufacturers can be discovered at your leisure, in order to immerse yourself in the world of artisans, and everything handmade. Some of them even offer workshops or tastings all year round, our artisans are definitely talented!
Locally produced beer, the micro-brewery of 3B (Drinking well in Brittany) offers visits so you can learn about the production of beers produced on site. The advantage of this visit? A beer tasting at the end. Throughout the year, it is in its bar that you can find the beers!
