21 rue Alain d'Argentré, 35370 Argentré-du-Plessis

Daniel Sauvage, a painter attached to his land: born in Gennes-sur-Seiche, Daniel Sauvage has lived in Argentré-du-Plessis since the 1970s.

On the different floors of the town hall, Daniel Sauvage invites us to stroll along the Chemin des loups and around the Moulin Neuf, with his 12 paintings of these places well known to Argentréens. Places he knows well, since he lives nearby. The artist-painter is full of praise for these corners of greenery which he describes as a "hikers' paradise", even going so far as to compare the Moulin Neuf to "Montmartre d'Argentré".

At the Mediatheque, we find different pictorial tendencies, since the paintings were painted with a knife. By painting the majority of these canvases in black and white, Daniel Sauvage wishes to “focus the viewer's attention on the subject of the canvas, by removing the distraction that colors can cause. The subjects of his paintings are moreover objects that we sometimes come across every day but that we never look at. This series of paintings is therefore a great way to pay homage to them.

If the purchase of a painting interests you, know that Daniel Sauvage will transfer the sum to the association of your choice, among an association that fights against cystic fibrosis, the Restos du Cœur and the Secours Catholique.
