Place called Les Rochers Sévigné, 35500 Vitré
from 15AM to 00PM
Breton residence of Madame de Sévigné, you will discover the orangery, the French garden designed by Le Nôtre, the private chapel, and two rooms in the medieval tower.
In the heart of a huge wooded park pierced with mysterious alleys, the Château des Rochers proudly erects its high roofs and towers. Madame de Sévigné discovered the château, the residence of her husband Henri, Baron de Sévigné, a few days after her marriage in August 1644. Falling under the spell of this property, she spent sixteen stays there and wrote 297 letters, mainly to her daughter, the Countess of Grignan.
