Step 1

The municipal lake of Rannée is an ideal starting point for various hikes. It is equipped to receive cars or coaches in its car park, a picnic area with tables is available as well as public toilets. The tour of the body of water is raised on both sides, one can see ducks which take advantage of the island as a refuge.

Step 2

The parish of Rannée is one of the oldest in the region, it includes that of La Guerche until the French Revolution. This explains the rich ornate door on the north facade of the church of Rannée, surmounted by Saint-Crépin and Saint-Crépinien, patron saints of shoemakers. Sandstone and puddingstone, the church was rebuilt between 1168 and 1178 after a fire. From this time, remain: the choir, the apse and the lower part of the whole. In the 1900th century, the building was enlarged by the construction of chapels with multiple gables to the north and south. Inside, its carved wooden pulpit is considered the oldest in the department. The commune of Rannée has only existed since XNUMX, as evidenced by the plaque affixed to a wall, Place de l'Eglise.
