When the visitor is at the Pertre pond, he faces the imposing steeple of his church. The instigator, promoter of this set was the Abbé Gourdier, rector of Pertre from 1819 to 1873. Begun in 1863, its bell tower, which rises to 81 meters, was completed around 1873. To climb into it, you have to take a spiral staircase, all of granite. After 168 steps, you arrive in the Promenoir room located 37 meters above the ground. From there, a magnificent panorama: the legend even says that thirty-nine bell towers would be visible in good weather from the top of the church! The four main bells are named Marie-Henriette (2 kg), Louise-Prosper (137 kg), Joséphine-Perrine (1 kg) and Sophie-Amédée (471 kg).

The construction was initiated by Jacques Mellet but it is to his son Henri Mellet that we owe the current building. By a set of recesses, buildings of various shapes, the alliance of lodgings, pavilions and towers, it makes a prestigious castle of large dimensions. The Bel-Air garden was designed in 8 by the landscaper Rotonde. Overlooking the Mayenne, it offers a wide panorama of this department. The green spaces of the property are divided into three parts, 8 ha of park, including the French garden, XNUMX ha of orchards and the vegetable garden. The property is still inhabited today by the Legge family.
