Walking

The "Tour des Portes de Bretagne" circuit is a 96 km hiking, mountain biking and horse-riding trail that connects the four lakes of the Vitré Communauté territory.
Along this circuit, you will have the opportunity to discover the fauna and flora of the Pays de Vitré, in particular at Cantache and Châtillon-en-Vendelais, two ornithological reserves which are home to many migratory birds.
During this journey, you can also stop to admire the landscape of the Vitré bocage thanks to the panoramic viewpoints offered by the circuit over the surrounding valleys and towns.
The first stage, made up of a majority of hollow paths, will take you, among other places, near the Château des Rochers Sévigné as well as the Plan d'Eau de la Valière. (21.76km).

Step 1

From Pertre to the Haute-Vilaine leisure centre: This third stage will take you along the Pertre forest as well as the Lafarge quarries before ending on the shores of the Haute-Vilaine lake. (15.04km)

From Argentré-du-Plessis to Pertre: This second stage will make you discover very beautiful sunken paths with ponds here and there. You will also discover the Pertre countryside, land of horses. (23.01km)

From the leisure center to Châtillon-en-Vendelais: This fourth stage will take you to the north of the territory where you can see the Butte de Montautour in particular before ending the day in Châtillon-en-Vendelais. (17.97km)

From Châtillon-en-Vendelais to Vitré: this last stage of the Tour des Portes de Bretagne will make you take the greenway which connects Nantes to Mont-Saint-Michel, to join Lac de la Cantache before returning to Vitré, city of art and history of which Victor Hugo spoke in as follows: "The happiness of seeing a Gothic, whole, complete, homogeneous city, as there are still some: Nuremberg in Bavaria, Vittoria Brittany… "(Notre Dame de Paris).
