Step 1

The Saint-Patern church, rebuilt in the "vitrean style" (low sides with multiple gables) between 1536 and 1554, is vaulted with beautiful wood paneling and retains a wealth of furniture classified as a "Historic Monument", including windows emblazoned with this era. 150 meters away, on the road to Domagné, in the old cemetery, is the St-Job chapel built in 1624 (external access only). you will pass at the Louvigné-de-Bais exit at “La Babinière”.

Step 2

The first Saint-Roch chapel was built during an epidemic by the parishioners of Torcé, in order to obtain the cessation of this disaster (date unknown). This chapel was once in the middle of a cemetery, before being rebuilt at the end of the 19th century, and today maintained in a green setting.

Step 3

In addition to the 15th century church, largely rebuilt in the 19th century, nine monumental crosses have been identified in the town. They date mainly from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Marks of faith and piety, they mark out the communal territory partially replacing crosses dating from earlier periods.

Step 4

The church dedicated to Saint Melaine is one of the most interesting buildings in Ille-et-Vilaine and dates from the beginning of the 15th century. Outside, the architectural decor is remarkable, particularly on the south facade, which recalls that of the church of Bais, the next stage of the circuit. The entire high altar, built in 1637 by Pierre Corbineau, uses tufa from the banks of the Loire, softer and whiter, which was brought up by the river "La Vilaine" to Rennes, then transported by cart .

Step 5

Bais has the remarkable parish church of Saint-Marse listed as a Historic Monument and the chapels of Notre-Dame d'Alliance and Marcé. 22 crosses dating mainly from the contemporary period are also listed. The site of the former chapel of Saint-Pierre in Bourg Saint-Pair has provided archaeologists with clues of continuous human occupation for more than 4 years (room of sarcophagi in the park of the town hall).
