Vélo Promenade® n°7 Between the rails of yesteryear and today – Variant

This town has a rich built heritage, with the castle of Plessis, the Pinel chapel, the church, rebuilt at the end of the 18th century, or the hamlet of Falconry. The village, modest at the beginning of the 19th century, became over the years a real agglomeration formerly served by the train. Home to active industrial establishments linked to the work of carpentry in particular, such as the old Rossignol factory or the Pasquet factory, the town retains the interesting Moulin aux Moines and Moulin Neuf.

The old town center has been relatively well preserved; it retains several dwellings dating from the 17th century and 18th century. The church of Saint Germain offers the particularity, among the churches built in the 19th century in the country of Vitré, to be built of alternating courses of black schist and gray sandstone. This polychromy can be inspired by neighboring Anjou. The achievement is due to a Vitrean entrepreneur. At a place called "Les Haies", a Japanese park "Le Jardin du Levant" offers a collection of Japanese plants including many bonsai (Tel. 02 99 96 69 51).
